Malcy Duff is a cartoonist from Edinburgh, Scotland. He has produced over 60 comics, including ‘The Pineapple,’ ‘The Banana/Skin Joke,’ ‘The Heroic Mosh Of Mary’s Son,’ and ‘A 52 Second Silence For Topsy.’ His work has been published by Giant Tank, There Goes Tokyo, Bugpowder, Good Press, Chocolate Monk, MAP, The Wire, Product, Art Review and Fantagraphics. His new comic The Liminal Sneeze will be published by Landfill Editions later this year.
He’s also one half of the singular and indescribable improv duo Usurper, who have graced stages at TUSK, Counterflows, Colour Out Of Space and various other festivals.
For TUSK Virtual, Malcy has produced a 10-episode animated story called Dental Practice. He doesn’t want to give much away in advance other than to say it’s stories unfold in the unusual intimacy between a dentist and their patients and that “I would encourage the viewer to treat this cartoon like a neighbour of the wonderful music at this festival. Place your ear on the wall.”
A new episode will air each weeknight of TUSK Virtual, with omnibus editions each Sunday.
